Our Christian Value of Friendship
Week beginning 16th October 2017
This week, we have been thinking about our school Christian Value of Friendship and in Year 2 we have written some very thoughtful thank you prayers.
We have also explored the Mobius Strip which is a continuous ring that has only one side. We proved this by drawing a line all the way along the one side and finished up on the same side where we started the line in the first place.
We each had a coloured paper strip and wrote,
'God’s Friendship Lasts Forever'
along the middle. When we got to the end, we started again.
These were all linked together to form a chain to symbolise God’s love.
The Parable of the Lost Son
After listening to the story from the Bible, we took on the roles of the father and sons. We used freeze frames and thought tapping to explore what each character might be thinking or feeling.
Friday 22nd September 2017
Today a visiting theatre group, called 'Footprints', came to our school to share some Bible stories with us. In Year 2, Steve told the story of David and Goliath. Throughout the day, we did lots of different activities linked to the story. At the end of the day, everyone gathered in the hall where we shared the different stories through drama, poetry, art and music. We also added a decoration to the Jesse Tree. We learned that Jesse was the father of David in our story.
