In Art Club we have been exploring different printing techniques.
We found lino cuts quite tricky to do at first but soon got the hang of it. Our lino-cut prints were really successful. We liked the way that every print was a little bit different, making each one unique.
We also made printing blocks out of polystyrene. Quite a few of us wanted to include words and numbers as part of our design. Here, we had to think about writing any letters and numbers in reverse, or as a mirror image, so that the final print would read correctly.
Knitting Bug Club
The knitting club runs every Wednesday lunchtime and at the moment children are making small squares of knitting to be sewn together into blankets and distributed via st Mary's Church ladies at Kings Mill Hospital Special care baby unit. The children are working really hard and having lots of fun while they make holes! drop stitches! lose their needles! and keep Mrs Potter busy fixing them. They are all doing an excellent job.
