PE

We have two PE sessions each week - Mondays and Fridays.

Please could you send your child to school wearing their PE kit on both of these days. Children need to come dressed for PE to take place outdoors.

Earrings should be removed for PE, unless recently pierced, then the child needs to cover them with microporous tape. Please ensure that long hair is tied back.

Key Information

  • Spellings are tested and changed once a week. You will find weekly spellings on Spelling Shed. The login should be at the front of your reading diary
  • Reading books will be changed once a week. Once children are on to turquoise books or above they can change their books themselves. These are in the KS1 library. We encourage them to have read the book at least three times before changing it, they should be able to retell the story and answer comprehension questions.
  • Compulsory homework is due every Friday and will be set on Maths.co.uk and Spag.com. Logins for these website are on the first page of your reading diary. These will be quizzes/activities based on securing basic skills and aid progress. They may be based on work that we have done in class that week, it could be about what is coming up so we can see what children already know or it could be a recap of prior learning.
  • Homework club will take place on a Friday lunchtime for homework that has not been completed from the previous week.
  • Children can also complete optional homework projects linked to our curriculum topics. These run for a half term and you can find them under the 'Homework' section.
  • PE Days - Monday and Friday. Please make sure that the children come to school in their correct PE kit on these days with earrings removed and long hair tied back.
  • Please make sure that children come to school with a drinks bottle that has water only in it.
  • Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled.
