I joined the Governing Body at St Mary’s as Staff Governor in 2019 and this a role that I feel passionate about and thoroughly enjoy. Having joined St Mary’s in 2018, the vision of the school entirely matches my own vision for learning and putting the children at the centre of everything. Therefore, I am highly committed to supporting the governing body to put the children at the heart of every decision which is made. In my role as Staff Governor, I am able to represent the wonderful staff at St Mary’s and put forward their views and ideas so a range of perspectives can be considered. I have ran focus groups for staff where we have been able to celebrate our wonderful achievements alongside considering ways which we can continuously develop and move forward as a team. Alongside this, I am responsible for monitoring the attendance of children and staff across school.
Having gained my teaching qualification in 2018, I have worked at St Mary’s for the whole of my teaching career so far. I can safely say that there is nowhere else that I would rather work. The children make my role as a class teacher and staff governor rewarding, heart-warming and they make me feel incredibly proud every day. Our staff team are warm, welcoming, supportive and are a pleasure to work alongside.
Out of school hours, I really value time spent with my family and friends. At weekends, we try and spend valuable time together going on long walks, retail therapy or relaxing at home. I love to go on holidays with my family, our favourite place to visit at the moment is Majorca. I love anything art and craft related and enjoy using my spare time to be creative.
