The Arts
The Arts are important to us at St Mary's and this is reflected in the curriculum that we have created for both Music and Art & Design. Through both these subjects, we aim to teach our children how to be creative for an audience. Children study an artist and musician every term during their time at St Mary's and we take time to study the key elements of both subjects.
Aside from our academic study offer, we also offer more bespoke opportunities to develop children's musical abilities. In collaboration with Inspire Music, we run Ukulele and Guitar lessons to both Keystage 1 and Keystage 2. We also offer Whole Class Ensemble Teaching: this is the opportunity for a whole class to learn to play a musical instrument for a term.
