STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) is an exciting part of our learning at St Mary's. When we redesigned our curriculum in 2019, we begun working in partnership with NMCN, a national construction company with their headquarters based locally in Huthwaite. The partnership sees specialist professionals from across the company coming in to school to work with our 7-11 year olds on projects involving STEM subjects - a key area for which we need to prepare our children. This works in tandum with our Novel Study approach - the projects link with the books that children are studying. NMCN are also supporting our younger children through the provision of resources for our 'engineering areas' and have recently written a picture book on working in construction and led activities with our youngest children on World Book Day. Our discrete Science, Computing and DT curriculum and policy documents can be found below. For more details on our Maths Curriculum, see our 'Maths Mastery' page.
